Transfer Week

Cant believe that it's almost transfers!!! I have been in the Bronx for 6 weeks now and on a mission for 2 months!!! That is flippin insane!!! It has been a very hard 6 weeks but I managed to survive it. There is so much I want to tell you guys. Miracles There have been so many miracles this past week. Me and my companion have been able to keep up the good work and achieve our goal that we have made throughout the week. This Sunday we brought 9/8 of our recent converts to church, and 4 of our friends that are progressing. 2 of these friends are preparing for baptisms this week and next week. Richard is an old guy and has had a lot of trials in his life but, it has been an amazing experience to help him become closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He is preparing to get baptized this Sunday, we just gotta keep hyping him up and calling him because he forgets what day it is and when to leave lol. Marlene is the 2nd one who is preparing for her baptism for the 26th of Januar...

Fasting

Hello everybody, This week has been a pretty good week, had a baptism on January 5th. His name was Wendell he was super excited, he talks a lot though LOL. We had to do it three times cuz the first two he did it fully submerge underwater, but the third time was completely perfect and he came out really happy and with the big smile on his face. It was very honorable to be able to baptize Wendell and to see him make his first Covenant with God. This Mission has been really well the missionary wise perspective but the mental health of it has been hard but after fast Sunday, I have been a little bit better. The background of this is that I wanted to go home. I felt like I didn't know what my purpose was as a missionary. My mental health has been horrible since the MTC. But I had amazing friends and a companion at the MTC who was the greatest. But coming on the mission field it wasn't like that. The sister missionaries are super sweet but the  elders  have been not as supportive as...

PDAY 12-30-2024

Hello Everybody, It has been a good week and probably the best week i have had since i started my mission from the start. We have someone on date to get baptized this Sunday. Super excited for him!!!! Anyways lets get into it. Mental health stuff: This week had its struggle still especially during the holidays but I was so grateful to be able to call my parents and my brother Thomas for Christmas this week. It was hard to be away from family but I had some things that helped me out. I was able to talk to the mission president, cause every transfer we have an interview with him at least once. Which helped me and made me realize that they want me here. And I was also able to talk to another missionary, just us, and man I didn't know we had a lot in common. We both struggle with anxiety and he helped me alot to be able to focus on why IM HERE, and what my goal is as a missionary. He's a very nice and genuine guy. And man did he help me. Christmas day: We went over to the senior si...

12/25/2024 Merry Christmas!!!! Cant beleive is already Christmas!! That's crazy to think that I've been out on my mission for a month and a half now!!!  Anyways I don't want to take to much of your guys time since its a special holiday. This past week has been good! Still pushing through everyday. So glad that im still able to call my parents and my brother Thoma. Talking to them has been helping me to just keep going and to not give up! Even your emails thay i get back have been helping me not wanting to give up. Especially this time of the year is super special because being a missionary has made me really focus on the special meaning of Chrsitmas, which is the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The greatest gift of all was given by our Heavenly Father. It has been super great to help spread that amazing gift to these people in the Bronx. The people have a hard time when it comes to holidays cause they are so worries about finances. So its been a blessing to let the peop...

The Bronx is Crazy!

Image
12/16/2024 Where do I begin!!!  The Bronx is crazy!! The people here are nice but there are a selected few that are just plain rude and careless  Last Pday we went to a hibachi place that was like a Asian buffet and man was it good. I had like 7 plate full food cause I haven't been eating cause me and my companion just work and and find people to come to church and set up a following lesson too. So we haven't been able to like make food or have time to get food. My companion loves to just get going and work. And I'm like elder I jeed to eat or just relax. But my companion is a good person getting to know him a bit more. But still has his flaws haha like we all do This past week has been a struggle. When I first got my mission call and read that I was going to New York City, I was shocked  . I was excited but I was also prepared for what I was going to see cause if you know New York City and like the Bronx, Brooklyn, Ect its crazy here. I saw an incident happen in fr...

First Week at NYC

Image
12/9/2024 Hello everyone, Alot happened this past week and man there is a lot to tell you guys. Dec 4: it was my last day at the MTC and it was exciting but sad at the same time. Had to say goodbye to my amazing district. They are such amazing people. They helped me adjust to this new life and i cant thank them enough. Especially my amazing companion Elder Talley!!! Man he was the best companion ever. Even tho I had only one so far. But i think he will be my favorite forever. He has been there since day one of MTC and has blessed me in so many ways. It was hard saying goodbye, but i know we'll see each other again. But i was lucky enough to have a sister missionary who is also serving in the same mission with me. So we both werent alone getting to NYC. After we arrived to the NYC airport we were greeted by other missionaries and the missions President and his wife! They are super sweet and kind. But they put you right to work haha. We literally were asking people if they wanted to...

12/4/2024 Heyoooo!!! There is so much to tell and you guys!! I don't even know where to start. It is still hard adjusting to not being around family and having to have a super busy schedule!! I've had moments where I just start crying and can't stop. But I've had some good moments which I'm holding dear to my heart. But let me start from the beginning     Sunday was good we had a good sacrament meeting with wonderful talk and testimonies. Then after, we had the opportunity to go and study for like 2 hours which if you know me I cannot concentrate even for 10 mins   and I have no clue what I even was reading but I prayed and and decided to read talks from past general conferences which was super good and I loved every bit of it even tho I didn't get a lot done cause I got distracted a lot hahaha. But it was a wonderful study session and I definitely felt the spirit with me. After we had a gathering with our district which was super wonderful and we kin...
